More details have emerged regarding the arrest of former NBA player Patrick Beverley, who faces serious allegations of assault against his sister at a Texas residence. According to court documents, the incident began on November 14 when Beverley’s sister left the home at night without permission to meet her boyfriend, Aiden Hilderbrand, at a nearby park.
When she returned, her mother instructed her to go to her room and then called Beverley to the house. The affidavit claims Beverley confronted his sister, allegedly grabbing her by the neck with both hands and lifting her off the ground, causing intense pain and making her feel as though she could not breathe for roughly 20 to 30 seconds.
The alleged assault escalated when Beverley reportedly carried her through the house, slamming her body against walls. He is accused of lying her on a sofa, standing over her, and punching her once in the left eye with a closed fist. The sister also claimed Beverley threatened her life, stating he would be the family member to kill her.
After Beverley followed Hilderbrand out of the house, the boyfriend contacted authorities. When police arrived, they noted visible markings on the sister’s neck and petechiae in the whites of her eyes, consistent with strangulation. Beverley was subsequently arrested and booked on a felony assault charge at the Fort Bend County Jail.
