The New England Patriots are back on a roll, matching their longest winning streak since the Tom Brady era with a 27-14 victory over AFC East rivals, the New York Jets last night (November 14).
Rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson stole the spotlight, scoring three touchdowns to power the Patriots to their eighth straight win, the first time they’ve done it since Brady’s final season in 2019.
Quarterback Drake Maye added 281 yards through the air and a touchdown, completing 25 of 34 passes. The victory pushes New England to nine wins and two losses, while the Jets remain stuck at two wins and eight defeats.
The Jets struck first at Gillette Stadium, with Justin Fields powering in a five-yard touchdown on the opening drive. But the Patriots quickly answered, as Henderson punched in two seven-yard scores before catching a touchdown pass from Maye midway through the third quarter to make it 21-7.
Fields found John Metchie later in the third, narrowing the gap, but Andy Borregales sealed the win with two fourth-quarter field goals, to give the Patriots the edge.
