

A person of interest has been arrested in connection with Monday’s brazen daylight attack on security guards at the Portmore Pines Plaza in St Catherine.
The incident has left one security guard dead and two others injured. The gunmen absconded with almost $10 million in cash.
The suspect was apprehended on Thursday (March 2) in Hellshire in Portmore during a police operation. He was reportedly held with a firearm and ammunition.
The police believe that the man has information that may be able to assist with their investigations.

Reports are that on Monday morning, gunmen shot members of the Berrylium security team who were delivering money to a Jamaica National (JN) automated teller machine (ATM).
The gunmen escaped with two bags containing money taken from the guards.
One of the male guards was pronounced dead at hospital, while a female guard, who underwent emergency surgery was admitted. While the other male guard was treated and released.
