Industry giants and the motoring public will have to contend with a marginal uptick in costs at the pumps this week, owing to State-owned refinery Petrojam’s latest update to its closely watched pricing regimen effective today (October 6).
In the petroleum product pricing index, Petrojam advised that 87-octane gasolene will cost 25 cents more than last week, to close at a new baseline of $193.41.
The increases, the first for consumers in two weeks, were consistent for all of Petrojam’s products excluding propane, which fell by 25 cents.
It is expected, however, that retailers islandwide will add their markups to the announced prices.
