Hitting a four-week milestone, Jamaican motorists and business interests enjoy a continued reprieve as state-owned refinery Petrojam again slashes its baseline prices.

Petrojam, in its closely watched petroleum product price index, advised that 87-octane gasoline will sell for $1.75 (or roughly 2.91 per cent) less effective today (May 11), closing at J$164.33 per litre.

What’s more, the price cuts are largely consistent for most products on Petrojam’s index this week. The biggest single drops were recorded for kerosene, automotive diesel and its ultra-low sulphur counterpart—all falling by $4.50 respectively.

It is expected that retailers will add their mark-ups to the announced prices.
