The St Catherine South police have charged a man with theft after using an authorised code to operate a phone card machine.
This stems from an incident at a business establishment in Portmore between February 2023 and January 2024.
The accused is 32-year-old Corey Carter, a supervisor of 4 West, Portmore, St Catherine.
Carter, who was employed as a cashier, reportedly used an authorised code to operate a phone card machine to sell a quantity of phone cards, and took J$212,520 from the phone card machine and converted it to his use and benefit.
A report was made and an investigation was launched, leading to Carter being arrested and charged.
