October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Photobooth Jamaica, a leading photo booth rental on the island and a woman owned business, will be supporting the fight against breast cancer with month-long donations to the Jamaica Cancer Society.

“The majority of clients booking our services for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and other special events are women,” said owner Veronica Allen-Ettinger, “and as a woman I feel its important to get regular mammograms and check-ups not only for breast cancer but other types of cancer as well.  This goes for our Jamaican men also to prevent and treat prostate cancer.”

During the month of October, Photobooth Jamaica will be donating 15 per cent of all new photo booth bookings, regardless of event date and even if the event is in 2022 or 2023.

According to the most recent data, there were a total of 4,576 deaths related to cancer in Jamaica for 2020 with a total of 7,197 new cases reported that year. Breast cancer accounted for 34 per cent of new cases in women and prostate cancer nearly 43 per cent of new cases in men.

“We also encourage our peers and colleagues in the wedding, event and entertainment industry here in Jamaica to do the same.” added Allen-Ettinger.
