JAMAICA Avant Garde Fashion Face Weekend started with a glamorous welcome event at the National Gallery of Jamaica in Kingston, on May 31, 2024.

The event celebrated the country’s fashion talent and the accomplishments and relationships SAINT International has built throughout the years.

The highlight of the evening was the introduction of the new faces poised to take the fashion world by storm.

Models such as Michael Whyte, Fella Michael, Kandyce Withers, and Drew Campbell, who already have impressive international gigs, were introduced to the audience. Their success stories, from local discoveries to international runways, underscore the transformative impact of Saint International’s work.

Speaking with Our Today, SAINT Founder and CEO Deiwght Peters said this year’s cohort will be an impressive showcasing of model and designer talent.

He said, “Saint will keep evolving and refining the platform for models and designers of colour from across the world to get this kind of opportunity to become significant players in the world of fashion.”

Peters mentioned that he is also looking forward to discovering more talent from across the Caribbean and Nigeria, more direct bookings and new strategic objectives.

“We’re already working with models from Barbados, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Trinidad & Tobago, and several models from Nigeria. Several of these models from Nigeria started out through direct bookings for major brands like Balenciaga which in itself is historic,” said Peters. “We’re also going to be going heavily into television.”

The SAINT International CEO says what makes the company the most successful modelling agency in the Caribbean is its commitment to fostering relationships and its deep belief in “integrity of process.”

“There has to be a significant emphasis on the integrity of process-respect, that is what parents in particular appreciate about SAINT international, their children are taken care of. We also have to be true to ourselves and the process. No one can fool the global industry. [Fashion is] a multi-billion industry that is very strict on these processes,” Peters added.
