The Yard Mas Carnival: Reign of Goddess band launch on Saturday night (January 29) gave fans a preview of the elegance and beauty of their costumes and what they should expect for carnival. It was a night of people enjoying good music, drinks and fun in New Kingston.

Yard Mas Carnival is Jamaica’s newest carnival band, brought to the people by I Love Soca, Fete Republic, Broadtail, and CS & Zarmak Ltd.

“It was my first band launch in Jamaica, it has me curious about what to expect on the road,” said soca reveller Kennise, from Trinidad.

After a night of soca music, the band launch ended the evening featureing eight costumes themed after popular goddesses and warriors – Aja, Oshun, Oya, Athena, Khaleesi, Queen of the Dance, Dolly, Xena.
