The People’s National Party has expressedprofound sadness” at the passing of late broadcaster Barrington “Barry G” Gordon.

Gordon died at age 70 on October 29, 2025, at the Savanna-La-Mar Hospital in Westmoreland,

Hailing Gordon as “a true icon of Jamaican radio and culture”, the PNP says Barry G was “a staple in Jamaican broadcasting”. The party adds that his voice and persona reached far beyond the airwaves to the very heart of our society.

Gordon began his career at the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation in 1975 and quickly established himself as a household name through his unique style, passionate engagement with the public, and unwavering commitment to Jamaican music and talent.

“Barry G’s contribution went beyond entertainment. He served as a cultural connector, a champion for Jamaican artistes, and a trusted presence in the homes of listeners across the island and in the diaspora,” according to the PNP.

“The PNP extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues in the broadcasting industry, and his loyal audience. We join with the entire nation in mourning and also in celebrating a life lived in service to Jamaica’s cultural heartbeat.”
