The People’s National Party is saddened by the passing on Tuesday of Reverend Jesse Jackson, a towering figure in the global struggle for civil rights, social justice, and human dignity.

His life’s work helped shape movements for justice and equality worldwide and inspired generations to stand firmly against injustice.

Opposition Spokesperson on Foreign, Regional and Diaspora Affairs, Senator Donna Scott-Mottley, said Reverend Jackson’s legacy is one that will endure for generations.

“Reverend Jesse Jackson was a moral voice in the global fight for justice, equality, and human rights. His lifelong advocacy for the oppressed and marginalised helped to shape international conversations on dignity, democracy, and inclusion. His courage and conviction inspired movements and leaders globally to believe that justice must always be pursued, even in the face of adversity.”

At a time when the world continues to grapple with issues of inequality, discrimination, and social division, his life’s work stands as a lasting testament to the importance of advocacy rooted in compassion, conviction, and faith.

“His legacy,” the PNP said, “reminds us that principled leadership and moral clarity remain essential in advancing justice and strengthening democratic values.”

The People’s National Party extends sincere condolences to his family, loved ones, and all those across the world who mourn his passing, and honours his extraordinary life of service to humanity.
