The People’s National Party (PNP) says it is shocked and saddened following the murder and disappearance of Member of Parliament for Kingston Eastern and Port Royal Phillip Paulwell’s daughter Sarayah and her mother Toshyna Patterson.

The PNP, in a statement on Friday, October 13, said: “The PNP vehemently condemns this heinous and unthinkable act. We expect that the law will punish the perpetrators of this atrocious crime to the fullest extent possible.”

“This is a grim reminder of the urgent need to protect women and children in Jamaica, and we stand in solidarity with all those who advocate for their safety and well-being,” the PNP added.

The PNP extended condolences to Paulwell, the family of Toshyna Patterson, and those affected by the tragedy.

According to reports, Toshyna Patterson and her 10-month-old child were last seen at the gate of their home at 3 Gilmore Drive in Kingston 20 on Saturday, September 9.

Patterson and her daughter were reportedly murdered and their bodies were disposed of.

Four persons, including a long-time partner of Paulwell, have since been charged with the murder and disappearance of the mother and daughter.
