The police are searching for the instigator of a bomb threat at St Mary High School on Monday (June 5) that resulted in some students resorting to online classes.

According to reports, an alleged voice note was received by the school’s principal on Sunday claiming that a bomb was set to detonate at the institution.

Reports are that some students were sent home while others who are sitting external exams were asked to remain at school.

The police are now trying to determine whether the call was made by a student who may have not wanted the exam to take place.

This is the second bomb threat within two days. It follows a similar bomb threat in Ocho Rios, St Ann at a Rubis gas station in the parish Sunday (June 4) morning.

The police have since arrested a man who recorded himself issuing the bomb threat on social media.
