Coordinating carnival bands takes meticulous work with timing being a key element of efficiency.

One can’t be haphazard and tardy or the whole procession descended into a mess.

Earlier today, there was an unfortunate mix-up on Trafalgar Road with Gen X, Xodus and Yardmas all bumping into each other because the timing was off.

Xodus is pointing out that one band was supposed to meet its 8.15 a.m. slot but missed it by at least 40 minutes causing mass confusion at the intersection of Worthington and Trafalgar Road, thus throwing everything off.

One carnival organiser, speaking with Our Today said: “This takes experience and you have to pay close attention to the pace at which you are going. If you neglect to do so, you run the risk of bands colliding and total chaos, which is what we saw this morning. Hopefully, those who want to be in this business will learn and get it right next time.”
