Popcaan among star-studded features on Burna Boy’s upcoming album

Nigerian singer Burna Boy recently teased his star-studded tracklist for his upcoming studio album, which includes dancehall’s elite, Popcaan.

The album, Love, Damini, set to be released at midnight Friday (July 8), consists of 19 tracks and comes three years after his last album, Twice As Tall.

Popcaan is no stranger to the afrobeats world, having collaborated with Davido on the Nigerian singer’s 2019 track, Risky.

The Buzz hitmaker, is featured on the 11th track, T.A.S, for the Love, Damini album.

Prior to the singer’s announcement, the release date of the album was subject to much uncertainty, with many believing it would have dropped on July 2, coinciding with the celebration of his birthday.

Speaking in an interview posted on the the Grammys website, the Bank On It singer, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, explained the meaning behind the the album’s title.

“My real name is Damini,” the Grammy-winner said, noting that the name means ‘It’s mine’.

“That’s how I like to sign all my letters, because I didn’t know the proper [signoff]. It’s a bit personal [because] it’s bringing you into my head on my birthday… when you turn 31 and ain’t got no kids, everything is going good and bad at the same time. You reflect and then you get as lit as possible. Then you sleep and wake up and reflect again,” he continued.

The track features other well known acts such as Ed Sheeran, Kehlani and J Balvin.
