Jamaican social media influencer Kerry-Ann ‘Chiney K’ Collins ignited controversy after admitting during her appearance on Sim Soul Sessions that she resorted to stealing her coworkers’ lunches during a period of financial struggle.

The confession, although part of an inspiring narrative about overcoming adversity, has caused significant public backlash.

Collins explained that, despite outward appearances of success, she was struggling to make ends meet and, in desperation, took food from her coworkers to survive.

“Things were so tough I had to steal coworkers’ lunches to eat, even though people thought I was doing well,” Collins stated. Despite her difficult circumstances, she credited her passion and determination for keeping her going through the challenging times.

The influencer went on to describe how she eventually found her footing by collaborating with fellow Jamaican influencers like Tanaania and Danar ‘Dan Dan’ Royal, who she now shares a daughter with.

Despite initially feeling out of place in this new world, she credited Danar for encouraging her to believe in her talent, which ultimately led to her winning the reality competition Social House and transforming her life.
