Filming for the second book in Rick Riordan’s Greek myth series starts in Vancouver, British Columbia, on August 1, and production will end on January 30, 2025.
Author and executive producer, Rick Riordan announced Daniel Dimer’s casting as the loveable Cyclops Tyson at last week’s Comic-Con panel.
On the panel, Scobell quipped, “We’ve been working with him so much during prep. You guys are gonna love him.” “He’s also like 6’5″…so maybe just a couple inches taller than me.”
The Sea of Monsters adaptation will feature the same cast and undisclosed new characters, including Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Charlie Bushnell (Luke), and Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue).
Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson will travel through the Bermuda Triangle to find the Golden Fleece, save Camp Half-Blood, and rescue their satyr friend Grover from the cyclops Polyphemus.
Disney+ renewed the streaming sensation for season 2 on February 7, just eight days after the season 1 finale. Disney reported that the show’s premiere episode on December 19 gained 26.2 million views, becoming one of the biggest debuts for the streaming service.
