
J. Wray & Nephew Limited has forged a significant alliance with Project STAR, committing J$10 million in cash and in-kind support over the next four years.
The formalisation of the partnership took place at a recent signing ceremony hosted at J. Wray & Nephew Limited offices on Dominica Drive in New Kingston.
Managing director at J. Wray & Nephew Limited, Jean Philippe Beyer, emphasised the company’s dedication to being part of the solution to Jamaica’s challenges. He highlighted its commitment to enabling a swift and effective response to these issues.
“Through this latest partnership with Project STAR, we will play our part in addressing and transforming a number of violence-prone communities across the island,” Beyer affirmed. He expressed optimism that this collaboration would pave the way for greater economic growth, security, and an improved standard of living in underserved communities.

Beyer underlined the importance of partnership and collaboration in tackling societal violence. He emphasised Project STAR’s approach, which focuses on addressing root problems through economic opportunities, job creation, and community-building activities.
Project director of STAR, Saffrey Brown, lauded J. Wray & Nephew for its support, noting that it signifies confidence in the organisation’s programmes and its mantra, ‘Everybody Fahwud’. Brown emphasised the transformative potential of the partnership, extending beyond financial contributions to encompass a shared vision for a brighter future.

She emphasised that their investment not only empowers Project STAR, but also inspires confidence and encourages further collaboration.
