The Board of Directors of PROVEN Investments Limited has appointments of three independent non-executive directors of the company, with effect from February 10.
In a statement, PROVEN said the appointments support the company’s business model for Accelerated Business Transformation & Future Proofing, which has Governance and Structure as a key enabling value lever.
The newly appointed directors are Anya Chow Chung, Neycha Soodeen and John-Paul Clarke, each of whom is said to bring to the PROVEN board multifaceted skillsets to further heighten policies, controls, and direction in pursuance of the business’ performance and success.
Anya C. Chow Chung is currently the chairman of the Board and chief executive officer of Geo. F. Huggins & Company (Grenada) Limited – Grenada’s third largest employer and the most broad-based trading company on the island. She is the first woman to serve in these capacities since the company was founded over 100 years ago.
Chow Chung’s other notable roles include:
· Director and current Corporate Secretary – Agostini Insurance Brokers (G’da) Ltd.
· Chairman of the Board of Directors – Grenada Airports Authority
· Former Director of the Grenada Board of Tourism (now the Grenada Tourism Authority)
· Private Sector Representative on the National Zero Hunger Challenge Initiative, a project of the Ministry of Agriculture in Grenada.
· Member of the Government of Grenada’s special advisory committee on the projected effect of COVID-19 on the economy. (March 2020)
Neysha Soodeen is a strategic communications consultant for regional organisations, a fundraiser for political campaigns and a champion for several initiatives contributing to the betterment of the Caribbean. She is the CEO of Radleigh Consulting and is renowned as one of the few people in the region with a tremendous knowledge of the Caribbean. Radleigh Consulting has served several different government agencies to help facilitate FDI to the island of Barbados and to help market their various products / exports including:
• The Barbados Tourism Investment Inc.
• The Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority
• Export Barbados
Additionally, as founder and CEO of Toute Bagai Publishing, considered one of the Caribbean’s largest magazine publishing houses, Soodeen has worked with various hotel brands, real estate developers, government agencies, regional associations and major corporations building a network of the key decision-makers and the top local and international executives operating or living in the Caribbean.
Dr John-Paul Clarke is a professor of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Texas at Austin, where he holds the Ernest Cockrell Jr Memorial Chair in Engineering. He is also co-founder and chief technology officer of Universal Hydrogen, a company dedicated to the decarbonisation of aviation that has thus far raised more than $25 million in venture capital to develop novel low capital expenditure infrastructure for the supply of hydrogen for aviation and other modes of transportation. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of Universal Hydrogen and Indigo Insurance (Bahamas) Ltd.
Clarke was co-chair of the National Academies Committee that developed the US National Agenda for Autonomy Research related to civil aviation and has chaired or served on advisory and technical committees chartered by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), European Union (EU), FAA, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), NASA, US National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM), US Army, and US DOT.
He is a Fellow of the AIAA and the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and is a member of the Airline Group of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (AGIFORS), the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and Sigma Xi.
