The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) says it has been saddened by new of the death of Ambassador Anthony Johnson.
“Ambassador Johnson served Jamaica admirably throughout a storied career in the private and public sector, and in academia,” the PSOJ said in a statement.
“He was respected by many for his statesmanship and devotion to his country. He has left a legacy of distinguished performance as an economist, Ambassador to the United States, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and in the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) as both a senator and member of parliament. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to his family and colleagues who mourn his death at this time.”
Johnson, a former leader of government business in the Senate, served the PSOJ from 1976 to 1980 as its executive director.
