The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) is extending hearty congratulations to Dr. Kevin Blake on his official installation as Commissioner of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) on Monday (March 18).
The PSOJ, in a statement on Tuesday, said that Blake’s swearing-in marked a significant milestone in the journey towards achieving a safer and more secure Jamaica, a vision shared by its members and the JCF.
“His appointment comes at a critical time when the JCF is undergoing transformative changes to modernise and better serve the Jamaican people,” the organisation noted.
The PSOJ recognises Blake’s invaluable contributions, especially in the area of modernisation, a crucial task entrusted to him by the previous commissioner. His strategic approach and in-depth knowledge of the National Security Plans have positioned him as a key figure in advancing the nation’s security framework.
Blake’s leadership and pivotal role in driving the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification for the JCF underscores his dedication to elevating the standards and operational efficiency of the force.
“Through our collaborative efforts, including Dr. Blake’s participation on behalf of the JCF on the PSOJ’s National Security and Justice Committee, we have witnessed his commitment to enhancing public safety and reducing crime. His ability to deliver well-considered strategies and his awareness of the challenges faced by Jamaica in the realm of national security have been exemplary,” said the PSOJ.
“As Dr. Blake steps into his new role, the PSOJ emphasises the significance of this transition period. There is an understanding that the challenges ahead are numerous and complex, yet there is unwavering confidence in Dr. Blake’s capability to lead with distinction. Building a strong team, fostering trust and confidence among the ranks, and driving the force towards achieving its objectives are paramount,” it added.
The mission at hand – to substantially decrease crime levels and effectively implement a national crime strategy – is critical for the well-being of our nation.
Blake’s leadership is instrumental in this endeavour, and his vision for a secure Jamaica aligns with the collective aspirations of the private sector and the wider society.
The PSOJ signalled its commitment to support Dr Blake and the Jamaica Constabulary Force as law enforcement personnel undertake this monumental task.

“We believe in the power of partnership and are committed to working alongside the JCF to create a safer, more prosperous Jamaica.”
Meanwhile, the powerful business organisation extended gratitude and well-wishes to the outgoing commissioner, Major General Antony Anderson, with whom it was said “the private sector has enjoyed a cordial, cooperative and positive relationship”.
His demission of office at a time when the country is seeing a 17 per cent reduction in murders must be recognised, as the PSOJ holds high hopes of Blake building on the record of his predecessor.
The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica assured Dr. Kevin Blake and his entire team at the JCF of its full support and looks forward to a fruitful collaboration aimed at enhancing national security and fostering a conducive environment for economic and social development.
