Commuters are being urged to remain vigilant amid an anticipated all-island public transport strike.

Several public transport providers have threatened to withdraw their services today, June 10, due to a decision by the Transport Authority regarding the suspension of driver’s licences of public transport operators who have accumulated 10 demerit points.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is now advising the public to stay informed by monitoring public advisories and regularly checking the JCF’s official social media pages for the latest updates.

Parents are also being encouraged to ensure their children are not left stranded by planning ahead and making the necessary arrangements in light of potential transport issues.

The JCF says it is actively monitoring the situation and will provide periodic updates to keep the public informed.
