‘Puss’ charged after multimillion-dollar heist at furniture store

The police are reporting that they have charged 45-year-old Sutcliffe Davy, otherwise known as ‘Puss’, of Back Street, Salem, St Ann, after a multimillion-dollar heist at a furniture store in Drax Hall, St Ann on October 27.

Reports are that the business owner securely locked up his establishment and went home. The following morning, he returned to the location and discovered that culprits had gained access to the store, stealing a safe that contained J$8,000,000, a cheque valued at USD3,840, cheques valued at J$3,649,879 and 40 cellphones valued at J$820,000.

The police said footage from a CCTV was later viewed and Davy was seen with another man moving the items.

The police have charged Puss with shop break-in and larceny.

He was charged after an interview.

A court date is yet to be finalised.
