The Qatar leg of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship has been postponed as tensions escalate in the Middle East.

The Lusail International Circuit was set to host the 1812KM race on March 28th, but organisers say the event will now take place later in the season, with a new date to be announced once the situation stabilises.

The postponement comes amid heavy fighting, with Iran launching missiles and drones in response to US and Israeli strikes. While Qatar is not a direct target in the initial attacks, the country has defended itself, shooting down dozens of missiles and drones, as well as two Su-24 jets.

The conflict has already claimed the lives of six US service members and left others seriously injured. Other major sporting events in the region, including the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in Saudi Arabia, where fans were expecting to see big names like Tom Brady and Maxx Crosby, are now in doubt, with no clear word on whether they will go ahead as planned.
