Persistent rain washed out the second T20 between the West Indies and USA Under-19 women’s teams at UWI’s Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground in St. Augustine last Saturday (July 26).

The young Americans posted a competitive 130/5 in their 20 overs, thanks to solid contributions from Chetna Pagydyala (46) and Nikhar Doshi (35). West Indies’ Naijanni Cumberbatch stood out in the field with two sharp run-outs that kept the visitors in check.

Unfortunately, the Caribbean side never got their turn at bat as heavy showers intervened. The no-result comes after West Indies claimed a five-wicket victory in Friday’s series opener.

Both teams will now regroup during a two-day break before returning to the same venue on Wednesday (July 30) for the third T20 at 10:00 am.  The five-match series serves as crucial preparation for both sides ahead of next year’s ICC Women’s U-19 World Cup, giving selectors valuable opportunities to assess their rising stars.
