Rapper Young Dolph killed in drive-by shooting in Tennessee

Thirty-six-year-old rapper Young Dolph has died.

The rapper was murdered following a drive by shooting in South Memphis, Tennessee.

Reports are that, around 1 p.m. the Large Amounts rapper went to Makeda’s Homemade Cookies bakery to purchase some cookies when a car approached the store and fired shots through the front window, resulting in the death of the artiste.

A massive crowd gathered around the scene with some members of the community mourning his death.

The rapper, whose real name is Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr, is well known in the Memphis community.

Young Dolph became known for giving back. He carried out gestures such as handing out turkeys around Thanksgiving in his community through the Memphis Athletic Ministries charity, speaking to school children and donating money to his former high school, Hamilton High.

The Memphis Police have stated that another person was with Young Dolph at the time of the shooting.

No information about the shooter has been released.

Young Dolph has been targeted on multiple occasions. Back in 2017, while at a shoe store, the rapper sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and buttocks, which required surgery.

In that same year, his SUV was shot at over 100 times while he was in Charlotte, NC.

Dolph is survived by a son and a daughter.
