Record number of abstracts for OOCUR 20th annual conference

The organising committee of the Organization of Caribbean Utility Regulators (OOCUR) says that over 30 abstracts have been submitted for consideration at the upcoming 20th annual conference to be held October 26-29.
This record-breaking response, according to the group, signals the conference’s growing influence as a premier knowledge-sharing platform for innovative ideas, industry developments, and best practices from across the Caribbean and beyond. The conference takes place at the Jewel Grande Resort & Spa in Montego Bay.
The submitted abstracts span a wide range of topics within the utilities sector, showcasing the diversity and depth of expertise across the region.
Yvonne Nicholson, director of consumer and public affairs at Jamaica’s Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR), commented, “We are thrilled by the enthusiastic participation this year.”
“The volume and quality of submissions underscore the importance of this international conference as a space for meaningful dialogue and advancement,” she added.
All abstracts are currently under review, and selected presenters will be notified next week. The final programme will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and breakout sessions designed to foster collaboration, highlight best practices, and encourage action. The full conference agenda will be released soon.
OOCUR is a non-profit organisation established by an agreement signed in 2002 in Jamaica by six signatories of utility regulators in the Caribbean. It is dedicated to advancing the development and efficiency of utility regulations in the region.
Since its inception, OOCUR has provided a platform for knowledge exchange, training, and collaboration among regulators and industry stakeholders.
