Red Stripe announces partnership with GenXS Carnival

Iconic beer brand Red Stripe has announced a partnership with ultra-premium Jamaican band GenXS Carnival.

In a historic move, the Rum Stripe innovation will be the presenting partner for GenXS Carnival during the 2023-2024 Carnival season in Jamaica. This collaboration brings the formidable strength of Red Stripe’s brand portfolio to enhance the overall carnival experience. 

Rum Stripe will take the spotlight as the featured brand, supported by Red Stripe Flavours, Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff and complemented by other premium selections, including Casamigos, Ciroc, D&G Rum and Bailey’s Irish Cream. 

Industry first for Red Stripe

Red Stripe’s decision to become the presenting partner signifies an industry first for them in Jamaica, setting a new standard in carnival sponsorships. Sean Wallace, head of commerce at Red Stripe, states, “the alignment between Red Stripe and GenXS in our inaugural year was an exceptional partnership, showcasing strong brand synergy. We are excited to have Rum Stripe, as the presenting partner this year, and we look forward to hitting the road with our impressive portfolio of brands.”

GenXS is renowned for its emphasis on masquerader experiences, premium costume design, and grand presentations. This alliance is poised to redefine Carnival in Jamaica, setting new standards and elevating the bar for Carnival experiences.

For his part, GenXS director Kibwe McGann says“having Red Stripe partner with us at this level, only in our second year, is a testament to the remarkable journey we’ve embarked upon. Our commitment to providing the ultimate Carnival experience has received recognition, and we are pleased to have earned Red Stripe’s trust in our brand.”

In concluding he adds, “this partnership signals that we are on the right path and have genuinely established ourselves as the band to play mas with in Jamaica.”

Another GenXS director Ajene Green expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership.

“Our mission is to continue to elevate the carnival experience in Jamaica. We’ve been highly selective in choosing our partners, and a brand as iconic as Red Stripe seamlessly aligns with our vision. This partnership allows us to execute in a way that gives our patrons the best, ultimately delivering an even more exceptional product and Carnival revelry,” Green says.

In completing his remarks, Green adds, “we’re particularly thrilled about the inclusion of Rum Stripe, a premium rum-based mixed drink on the road, alongside other premium selections including Johnnie Walker and Casamigos Tequila. This partnership marks a significant turning point for us, and we are excited to get started.”
