Beer company Red Stripe has clocked six nominations for the upcoming Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association’s Manufacturers and Exporters Awards.
Founded in Jamaica in 1928, Red Stripe has been nominated for the Jamaica Productivity Centre (JPC) Productivity and Competitiveness Award, the Vision 2030 Corporate Social Responsibility Award, the ESG Most Sustainable Manufacturer Award, Inclusivity Champion Award, National Certification Body of Jamaica (NCBJ) Award for Quality and Standards – Large, Breakthrough Product of the Year, and the Legacy Award.
The nominations highlight the 105-year-old manufacturer’s ongoing quality-based performance, from operational productivity and environmental stewardship to product innovation and community development. The annual JMEA M&E Awards is one of the most coveted ceremonies in Jamaica’s manufacturing and export sectors, and this year’s banquet, slated for Saturday, September 28, is highly anticipated by the Red Stripe team.
“We are deeply honoured to once again receive significant recognition from the JMEA, especially across such impactful categories. These nominations reflect the dedication and tireless effort our team invests in upholding the highest productivity, sustainability, and quality standards. We take immense pride in their consistent excellence, whether through innovative offerings like Rum Stripe and Gordon’s Pink Gin, ambitious sustainability initiatives, our recent consumer engagement initiative to spread “beer love”, community-focused projects such as responsible drinking campaigns and the Desnoes and Geddes Foundation’s outreach. This recognition is equally for our customers, who remain a driving force behind all we achieve,” said Red Stripe Head of Corporate Affairs, Dianne Ashton-Smith.
Red Stripe has an exceptional track record within the industry. In 2022, they received the most awards at the JMEA M&E Awards banquet. Last year, the company had seven nominations, notably securing the Jamaica Productivity Centre (JPC) Productivity and Competitiveness Award. Another one of their noteworthy nominations, for three consecutive years, is the Vision 2030 Corporate Social Responsibility Award. As a leader in environmental, social, and governance practices, the company remains committed to reducing its carbon footprint and driving positive change in the communities it serves. Further solidifying themselves as holistically valuing sustainability and a true ‘Care for People and Planet’, Red Stripe recently participated in the Kingston Harbour Cleanup Project for International Coastal Cleanup Day, where they removed more than 1000 pounds of waste.
