Red Stripe Flavours has officially launched the 2026 staging of the Netball Jamaica Elite League, reaffirming its commitment to supporting women’s sports, youth development, and Jamaican sporting culture. The launch took place on Friday morning at the National Arena, where organisers, players, sponsors, and stakeholders gathered ahead of what is expected to be another exciting and highly competitive season of Jamaica’s premier domestic netball competition.

Organised by Netball Jamaica and sponsored by Red Stripe Flavours since 2024, the league has become one of the country’s leading development platforms for elite female netball talent while continuing to elevate the visibility and growth of women’s sports locally. The 2026 season officially begins on June 5 and will feature matches every Friday and Sunday throughout the competition.

This year’s league will again feature five teams representing both parish and franchise-based identities, including defending champions, Kingston Hummingbirds, along with Manchester Spurs, St Catherine Racers, St Ann Orchids, and the Development Squad/The JACE Risers.

Speaking at the launch, President of Netball Jamaica, Karen Baugh, welcomed the continued partnership and investment in the sport.

“This year promises to be bigger and more competitive. Continued sponsorship investments signal confidence in not only netball but in sporting communities and the development of young people,” she said.

Brand Manager for Red Stripe Flavours, Arnaldo Martin, said the brand remains committed to recognising and investing in the women behind the sport.

“Netball has always been part of Jamaica’s sporting excellence, and the passion, discipline, and commitment these athletes bring every season deserve real investment. That is one of the reasons Red Stripe Flavours chose to support the Netball Elite League. The sport already has the talent and a loyal fanbase. What it deserves is continued visibility, stronger partnerships, and brands that genuinely believe in where the game can go.”

As Red Stripe Flavours returns for its third year supporting the league, the brand’s involvement is intended to go beyond simply sponsoring the competition. It also seeks to recognise the players, their personalities, and the impact they continue to have on the sport and its supporters. The brand believes Jamaican women in sports deserve platforms that celebrate not only their performance on the court, but also their influence and impact beyond the game.

The Red Stripe Flavours Netball Jamaica Elite League remains a critical pipeline for Jamaica’s national netball programme, while also creating opportunities for emerging players to compete at a high-performance level. The competition additionally provides an important platform for community engagement, youth connection, and the continued advancement of women’s sports in Jamaica. The league, which evolved from the former Berger Elite League into its current Red Stripe Flavours-branded format, has steadily expanded its impact on athlete development and sports entertainment.

The 2025 season featured 14 matches and 56 top local players, and Kingston Hummingbirds emerged champions after defeating Manchester Spurs 52–50 in a thrilling final.

Through continued partnership and investment, Red Stripe Flavours says the 2026 season aims to further elevate the profile of women’s sport while deepening community engagement and national pride through netball.
