Founder of Stem and Story Studio Monique Thomas introduces Red Stripe mothers to the principles of ikebana, encouraging mindfulness and self-expression through the art form.
In a quiet shift from the pace of daily operations, Red Stripe transformed the Vibes Lounge at its Kingston head office into a floral workshop space on Friday, where twenty-three employee mothers explored the Japanese art of ikebana ahead of Mother’s Day.” Led by Stem and Story Studio, the session blended creativity, conversation, and cultural expression as participants carefully arranged stems and floral pieces throughout the afternoon.
Red Stripe Brand and Corporate PR Manager Tyheissa Williams pauses to “smell the rose,” as she makes her choice of floral selection.
As the session ensued, concentration turned into laughter and bonding, creating an atmosphere that encouraged connection beyond the workday. By the end of the session, many participants left with more than floral arrangements, taking away a renewed appreciation for making space to slow down and recharge.
Facilities Coordinator Barbara Robinson carefully flexes a rose into shape, using movement and form to bring dimension to her piece.
Occupational Health Advisor Annalia Bucknor-Black selects anthuriums as the group experiments with colour, texture and personal expression through their designs.
Senior Business Analyst Mae-Shon Bowers is deeply focused as she layers stems and blooms within her arrangement.
