As the local carnival season intensifies in the lead up to the big road march this Sunday (April 16), Red Stripe is amplifying its moderation message with an urgent call for revellers to enjoy the Carnival season responsibly.

Announcing the roll out of another edition of its ‘Get Home Responsibly’ campaign, Red Stripe says it’s hoping to encourage partygoers to always opt for a designated driver.

‘Get Home Responsibly’ offers social media followers a chance to win free tickets to Red Stripe-sponsored events along with premium designated driver services provided by rideshare partners QuickCart and Travelr Taxi.

CAMPAIGN PROMOTES ‘DESIGNATED DRIVER’ CONCEPT

“We launched the ‘Get Home Responsibly’ campaign last year as an extension of our Drink and Live Responsibly platform which advocates for a holistic approach to responsible consumption. Having seen the success of our efforts during carnival, Reggae Sumfest and Christmas holiday executions last year, we made it our duty to partner with QuickCart and Travelr Taxi once again to offer patrons a safe and convenient option to commute this carnival season,” said Red Stripe head of corporate affairs Dianne Ashton-Smith.

The ‘Get Home Responsibly’ campaign promotes the ‘designated driver’ concept that Red Stripe believes should become a part of Jamaica’s party culture. As part of the promotion, rideshare partners will offer discounted or free rides for all eventgoers who use the service to safely commute to Red Stripe-sponsored events.

“There’s no doubt that Red Stripe is the World’s Coolest Beer Company. We’re also champions of moderation, consistently leading the call for us to build a culture of responsibility and a whole-of-society approach to reducing harmful use.”

All ‘Get Home Responsibly’ promotions and activities will be advertised via Red Stripe’s Corporate (RSC) social media platforms.

This carnival season, RSC followers will get a chance to win free tickets and free shuttle services to a series of Red Stripe/Heineken sponsored events including Soca Brainwash on April 14; Heineken Sunrise Breakfast Party on April 15; WiFete on April 15 sponsored by Smirnoff and Red Stripe Flavours; and Big WALL on April 16. Social media followers also have a chance to win passes to the Smirnoff Viewing Deck to watch the road march on Sunday.

“There’s no doubt that Red Stripe is the World’s Coolest Beer Company. We’re also champions of moderation, consistently leading the call for us to build a culture of responsibility and a whole-of-society approach to reducing harmful use. This requires a collaborative and consistent effort across all sectors. So, we encourage consumers to continue taking advantage of our offerings as we enjoy these events responsibly while ensuring that we also get home responsibly. A big ‘Thank You’ to our rideshare partners QuickCart and Travelr Taxi, who have doubled down on their commitment to this cause and without whom this would not have been possible,” asserted Ashton-Smith.
