On October 18, the official tournament launch was a momentous occasion. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished figures, including Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen and the Custos Rotulorum for the parish, Lincoln A. Thaxter. Against a backdrop of eager anticipation, all participating vessels lined up in their designated “formation” and set sail for an electrifying start, just outside the lighthouse.
