Three Jamaicans—Andre Blake, Damion Lowe and Tayvon Gray—were named in the Concacaf Best XI for the October window of League “A” fixtures.

Jamaica and Suriname had the most players, both with three in the Best XI, completed by one each from Trinidad and Tobago, Guatemala, Martinique and Honduras.

The four top-ranked countries—Canada, Mexico, the United States of America and Panama—did not participate in the earlier Concacaf rounds as they were given a bye into the semi-finals, hence no players were eligible from these countries.

With the October window of League A of the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League complete, many players delivered top performances in the final two group-stage matchups, yet these 11 players stood out the most at their respective positions.

Concacaf provided explanations for the selection of team members.

Andre Blake was key for the Reggae Boyz to close out the group stage with four of six possible points, while not conceding any goals, to clinch the top spot in Group B. Jamaica’s goalkeeper kept two clean sheets against Nicaragua and Honduras in the final group-stage fixtures. He recorded 11 saves and six clearances and an impressive 97.73 per cent pass completion rate.

Tayvon Gray: The right-back clocked in an impressive shift playing full-time in the Jamaica 2-0 win in Nicaragua. Gray commanded the right flank and contributed two clearances to help the back line keep a clean sheet.

Francisco Calvo: The Costa Rica captain returns to the League Best XI after being featured in September. Calvo started and featured the entirety of the team’s games in October as Los Ticos tied in Suriname and defeated Guatemala to clinch the top spot in Group A and advance to the quarter-finals for a second consecutive edition.

Calvo helped Costa Rica keep a clean sheet and scored a fantastic bicycle kick in the win against Guatemala. With the goal, Calvo took his tally to seven all-time in the CNL and extended his lead as the nation’s top scorer in the competition.

Damion Lowe commanded a sturdy Jamaican defensive back line in the team’s valuable away win against Nicaragua. He recorded eight ball recoveries and a clearance in 98 minutes on the pitch.

Ridgeciano Haps: Suriname made history by advancing to the CNL quarter-finals for the first time thanks to a 1-1 draw against Costa Rica and a 5-1 win over Guyana to claim second place in Group A. Haps owned the right flank, featuring the entirety of both games, and was an offensive outlet for the team. He scored a goal and provided an assist in the win against Guyana.

Oscar Santis was one of Guatemala’s most influential players in the team’s closing group-stage games in Group A. He scored a brace for Los Chapines in their first match of the October window to help the team secure a 3-2 win in Guyana.

Kervin Arriaga returns to the CNL League A Best XI after featuring in September. Honduras clinched one of the top two spots in Group B to advance to the quarter-finals with Arriaga influential in midfield. He started both matches of the window for Los Catrachos, contributing four ball recoveries, six shots, and recording a 90.91 per cent pass completion rate.

Joevin Jones was in stellar form to help the Soca Warriors secure fourth place in Group B to maintain League A status. He scored in each match as Trinidad and Tobago drew 2-2 and won 3-1 in consecutive matches against Cuba, taking his tally to five to extend his lead as the all-time top scorer in the CNL for Trinidad and Tobago. He also completed 90.28 per cent of his passes.

Sheraldo Becker: One of the stars in attack with the opening two goals in Suriname’s key 5-1 win over Guyana, Becker helped his country finish second in Group A and move into the quarter-finals. Becker was the top forward in League A in the October window with two goals, an assist and six shots.

Gleofilo Vlijter continued to be one of Suriname’s star men in attack and helped the team secure its historic place in the quarter-finals. He scored the only goal to secure the valuable 1-1 draw on home soil against Costa Rica. With 12 goals, he is the all-time scorer for Suriname in the CNL, while also the third all-time scorer in the tournament. Vlijter contributed a goal, an assist and completed 100 per cent of his passes in 156 minutes.

Mickael Biron was a constant threat in attack for Martinique to close out the group stage with a win and a draw. He provided the match-winning assist in the 1-0 win against Guadeloupe, four ball recoveries, and six shots overall.
