The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) announced late Sunday that Heimir Hallgrimsson has resigned as head coach of the Reggae Boyz.

The announcement came just hours after the team suffered a 0-3 defeat to Venezuela, ending their Copa America campaign without a single point after three consecutive losses.

Hallgrimsson, who took over the coaching duties for Jamaica over two years ago from Theodore Whitmore, communicated his decision to step down to both the JFF president and the players earlier in the day.

His resignation marks the end of a tenure characterised by efforts to elevate the national team’s performance and visibility on the international stage.
