Freshly minted Reggae Girl Taylor Hinds showed her versatility by scoring twice as Liverpool downed Aston Villa 2-1 on Sunday in the English Women’s Super League.

Hinds, who made her debut for the Reggae Girlz in Jamaica’s 0-3 defeat to France on October 25, netted in the 26th and 43rd minutes.

Both times the Liverpool skipper, playing at left-back, arrived late at the back post and punished Aston Villa. The first she rammed home with her right foot and the second she calmly slotted home with her left.

It was Liverpool’s second win from six games and they sit in sixth spot on nine points. Fellow Reggae Girl Khadija Shaw’s Manchester City leads with 16 points.

Hinds, who should make her home debut for the Reggae Girlz in Jamaica when they play South Africa twice, has equalled her goalscoring tally from last season of two goals from 15 matches.

Hinds, who had an incredible weekend, helped Liverpool set a new club record of eight Women’s Super League away games unbeaten.

Hinds and Liverpool will now turn their attention to next Sunday when they host champions Chelsea sitting in second spot on 15 points.

The 25-year-old Hinds, whose grandparents are from Manchester in Jamaica, represented England at the youth levels at the Under-17, Under-19 and Under-23 levels, before making the switch to Jamaica last month.

She was part of the England squad that won bronze at the 2018 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in France and the 2017 Under-17 World Cup in 2016.
