The National Commercial Bank last year announced its plans to transform some of its traditional branches into digital branches. The traditional Port Maria branch in St Mary, for example, is one included in the infant stages of this project.
Earlier this year, the company signed off on an agreement to create a digital branch in the parish.
Located on 8 Main Street in Port Maria, the construction of the digital branch has been completed.
However, it is not yet open for business.
Customers on Monday, November 1, will be able to walk through the doors of the new digitised Port Maria Branch and experience the new physical and digital features being offered.
The branch will exclusively serve customers whose transactions can only be done in-branch, as well as vulnerable and special needs groups such as senior citizens, the visually/hearing impaired, and persons with other special needs. The disabled, for example, will have ramps that should provide easier access to the facility.
The branch will also cater to the usual contractions including Jamaican-dollar cash and cheque transactions, account maintenance, account opening and credit card and loan applications.
NCB has also indicated that its ABMs in the parish will be relocated. This is set to take place today starting at 5 pm. They will not be available for use until tomorrow (October 30) at 10 am.
