After a battering from Hurricane Beryl three weeks ago, the proprietors of Ribbiz Ocean Lounge disclosed that extensive repairs have been undertaken and the facility is set to officially welcome guests at reopening on Friday (July 26).
It was confirmed that most of the windows had to be replaced and the exterior deck had to be rebuilt.

“Quite a bit of work has been done to get Ribbiz Ocean back up and running but now we are happy to report that we will officially reopen on Friday with a block party. The location sustained a lot of damage from the hurricane which we had to quickly address,” said Brian Chung, co-director of Ribbiz.
“A significant sum has been invested in the location to get it ready to receive customers. We know how customers look forward to dining on the waterfront especially now [that it’s] summer, lots of families spend time there and the onus fell on us, as owners of the Ribbiz brand to continue to deliver an exceptional experience for them,” he added.
This Friday, Ribbiz Ocean Lounge, located on the waterfront in downtown Kingston, will host a reopening block party featuring the immortal Stone Love.
The event kicks off at 9:00 pm and admission is free.
There will be food and drink on sale.
