Michael Ricketts retained his position as the boss at the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), after winning against his challenger Raymond Anderson.
The election was originally set for February but was stalled due to legal action by Beach Soccer Jamaica regarding the latter’s voting rights. After the injunction was lifted, the path was cleared for the elections, which were held on March 17 at the Royalton Resort in Negril.
Ricketts has held the office since 2017 and will now undergo his second-straight term. Rickett’s last stint was perhaps most notably remembered for the saga involving the Reggae Girlz and their assertions about disrespect and a lack of proper payment for their historic World Cup run. In response to his victory, Ricketts said he felt his work with the JFF was vindicated by this re-election.
Ricketts will be joined in leadership by St Catherine FA president Elaine Walker-Brown, St James FA president Gregory Daley, Portland FA president Raymond Grant, and Manchester FA president Barry Watson. Additionally, JFF vice-president Bruce Gaynor and JFF technical committee chairman Rudolph Speid are also part of the slate to serve as ordinary directors.
Ricketts beat Anderson by a vote of 39-17.
