After keeping the name of their baby boy top secret for almost a year, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s first child has finally been revealed as RZA Athelston Mayers sources have confirmed.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, which obtained a copy of the child’s birth certificate, the name was inspired by American rapper Robert Fitzgerald Diggs (RZA), the leader of the hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan.
The Wu-Tang Clan has been considered one of the most influential hip-hop groups in history, after popularizing East Coast hip-hop and hard-core hip-hop.

The group includes RZA, Gary Eldridge Grice (GZA), Clifford Smith Jr (Method Man), Cory Woods (Raekwon the Chef), Dennis David Coles (Ghostface Killah), Jason Richard Hunter (Inspectah Deck), Lamont Jody Hawkins (U-God), Jamel Irief (Masta Killa) and a former member who is now deceased Russell Tyrone Jones (Ol’Dirty B**tard).
Fans have shared mixed reactions to the name of Rihanna’s baby boy, some noted that the child’s name was a bit far-fetched and would pose a challenge in his earlier years to pronounce. On the other hand, fans believed the name is ‘cool’ and it was great that he was named after a legend.
Neither of the child’s parents has officially revealed the name of their first child to the public.
