As Bajan singer Rihanna gears up for the birth of her first child, with American rapper A$AP Rocky, the Rude Boy hitmaker yesterday (April 5) uploaded a birthday post of her mother where she expressed a newfound appreciation for the woman who birthed her that she has discovered as a mom-to-be.

Uploading a throwback picture of both her and her mother in church, the singer penned a caption where she stated that being on the verge of motherhood has unlocked new levels of love and respect for her mother she could not put into words.

“Today is my Queen’s birthday!!,” she started. “Being on the verge of motherhood, unlocked new levels of love and respect I have for my mommy in a way that I could never explain,” she wrote.

She continued: “She’s a true MVP and I wanna give her flowers every second I can! Love you mumzzz!!! Happy Birthday! We gon celebrate on da link up!”

Rihanna has always appeared to be very close to mother, Monica Braithwaite, describing her as one of the strongest people she knows.

The FENTY Beauty founder looks as if she could give birth any time now, and although she has not revealed how far along she is in months, she did disclose in a recent interview that she is in her third trimester, touching also on some of the challenges of pregnancy.

“There’s a pregnancy glow. There’s also those days, girl. Especially in the third trimester where you wake up and you’re like, oh, do I have to get dressed? The face gets a little round and chubby. The nose starts to spread. Everything is a challenge, from getting dressed and how you’re going to do your makeup. But I like challenges. I like things that force me to be creative and create in new ways,” she said.

The Love On The Brain hitmaker announced her pregnancy back in January and appeared then to already be far along. Since then, the mother-to-be has had her baby bump on display, wearing interestingly revealing maternity outfits.

She has been spotted several times in stores picking up female baby clothing, leading fans to believe she will be giving birth to a baby girl.
