Pop princess Rihanna today (April 29), for the very first time, publicly acknowledged her newly conferred status as National Hero of Barbados.

The star, who was conferred back in November 2021, took to her verified Instagram account to acknowledge the special honour.

Today marks the Bajan’s first celebration as a National Hero on the country’s Hero’s Day. Similarly, today marks Barbados’ first time celebrating National Heroes Day as a Republic.

Posting a gallery of photos from the Pride of the Nationhood Ceremony, the FENTY Beauty entrepreneur penned a heartfelt caption of appreciation for her appointment.

“My very first #NationalHeroesDay as a National Hero of my country Barbados!…What an absolute honour to be amongst such great men and women who have come before me and held this title in commitment to our nation,” she started.

“I will forever cherish these moments and continue to represent the Bajan people and my home Barbados to the fullest.

“Love and gratitude to both The Prime Minister, The Honourable Mia Amor Mottley and our President, Her Excellency The Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason for trusting me with this honour!”

The Bajan, who stands as the 11th National Hero of the country, and second heroine, was also given the title, The Right Honourable.

The mother-to-be, who could give birth at any moment, was recently in her home country with partner, A$AP Rocky, where the 34-year-old previously shared that she wanted to raise her child in Barbados.
