British pop star Rita Ora has finally confirmed she has tied the knot with beau Taika Waititi, describing the nuptials as perfect and special.

The songstress, 32, was speaking on Heart Radio Breakfast earlier today (January 27) to promote her latest single You Only Love Me.

“Yes, I am married. I am officially off the market people. I chose to keep it more private and keep it to myself more but with my new video I am playing on what could have been,” the entertainer said.

News broke in August 2022 that Rita and Taika had secretly tied the knot after a year and a half of dating. Rita described the private nuptials as perfect and exactly what she wanted.

The Let You Love Me singer also said: “It is nice to keep some things just to myself sometimes. It was nice and sweet. Sorry it’s not that interesting. One day we’ll throw a big party.”

According to Ora, her husband plans to throw a big party to celebrate the marriage at some point in the future.

Speaking about the possible name change, she admitted: “I have definitely thought about taking his surname, but I have worked very hard for this Ora name. I don’t know… I haven’t really decided yet.”

Her newest single, You Only Love Me, has a strong wedding theme message, depicting Ora as a bride getting ready for her big day.

The video begins with several other celebrities shown on a vintage TV giving their congratulations to the bride.

“I just had the craziest dream, that you were getting married, and I wasn’t there,” actress Kristen Stewart jokingly says.

Relationship history

Ora and Thor director Waititi were first linked in May 2021, when they were photographed together in Sydney, Australia.

The couple first made their romance official in August 2021, about three months after first sparking dating rumours.

They finally confirmed that their relationship was the real deal when they attended The Suicide Squad premiere together.

In June 2022 it was reported that the couple had got engaged. Just weeks later, rumours started circulating that the couple tied the knot in a secret summer wedding.
