There was no better place to be this past Sunday than Hope Gardens, where Romain Virgo + Friends brought Mother’s Day to life through music, reflection, and shared moments.
Hosted by Jade tha Jem, the event carried a warm, welcoming energy from start to finish. Families gathered under the lights and friends filled the gardens, setting the stage for a night centred on connection.
Romain Virgo, known for his powerful vocals and honest storytelling, led a strong lineup that included Sevana, Mortimer, Janeel Mills, and Tori Lattore. Surprise appearances by Omi, Capleton, Marcia Griffiths, Agent Sasco, Tarrus Riley and others added momentum, while the music moved between tributes and fan favourites. Brand activations by Johnnie Walker and Baileys offered curated sampling in VIP, complementing the tone of the evening.
In closing, Virgo performed his song Dutty Man, making a direct call to action for better protection of Jamaica’s children and young women, in light of recent events. What began as a concert became something more—a collective moment grounded in music, appreciation, and the enduring strength of our mothers.
