The operators of the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) has indicated that a section of the roof was damaged during the passage of Hurricane Beryl.

PAC Kingston Airport Limited (PACKAL) said it noted a viral video showing roof damage at the airport.

“We wish to advise the public that a small section of the roof of the passenger boarding pier has been damaged by the passage of Hurricane Beryl. Once the storm has completely passed, a full assessment of damage will be done,” the airport manager said.

PACKAL however said it wants to reassure the public that the airport is intact. It will continue to provide updates regarding reopening for flight activities.
