Amid concerns as Tropical Storm Ian approached, Rough Fight League (RFL), Jamaica’s only sanctioned MMA fighting league, hosted one of its best event’s ever with Moneague Fight Night at the league’s birth place in St Ann on Saturday (September 24).

Andrew Mullings, CEO of RFL Mixed Martial Arts Jamaica, called the evening “an explosive night, despite the storm scare, patrons turned out in numbers, fans got to see quality combat skills, production was on point and a first class execution, one of our best yet”.

“Start back weh you start from,” said Mullings, who shared with Our Today that keeping this staging of the event at Moneague College Auditorium in Moneague, St Ann was very sentimental to him since its where his brother and colleagues first got the support to host the competition in 2018.

Although initially planning to host an event in Kingston in 2020, cancellations due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic forced the league to go on hiatus.

RFL will not have any more stagings for the year and returns in March 2023.

Mullings said fans can expect “newer fighters, higher production quality, and new venues – Montego Bay and Mandeville for future stagings.”

He added: “Moneague will remain the home of RFL and fans can always expect us there for Moneague Fight Night.”
