Royalton Hotels & Resorts has reinforced its long-standing commitment to Jamaica with a comprehensive relief programme supporting employees, nearby communities, and the wider tourism sector following the impact of Hurricane Melissa.

While restoration of its Jamaican resorts will require time, the company has placed the well-being of its team members and surrounding communities at the forefront of its recovery response. Royalton emphasises that its return will be strong, sustainable, and aligned with Jamaica’s reputation for world-class hospitality.

Immediately after the storm, the company mobilised critical resources, including clean water from its reverse osmosis plants, emergency accommodation for employees whose homes were affected, monetary assistance, and grocery care packages. Additional financial and wellness support continues to be issued to ensure stability, dignity, and reassurance for staff during this period.

Extending its efforts across the region, Royalton’s sister properties throughout the Caribbean have launched donation drives, volunteer programmes, and community outreach initiatives, reflecting a shared organisational commitment to Jamaica’s recovery.

More than 200 employees will remain on-site to maintain and preserve the properties throughout the rebuilding phase. In addition, key staff and managers are being deployed to other Royalton resorts under task force assignments, providing continued employment, professional development, and elevated training. Teams will return to Jamaica more skilled, confident, and ready to deliver exceptional guest experiences upon reopening.

“As we move through this period, our priority is ensuring our hotels remain safe environments for both guests and staff,” said Daniel Lozano, senior vice president of operations.

“Our commitment to Jamaica remains unwavering. The island’s spirit of hospitality continues to inspire us, and we are proud to stand with our teams and communities as recovery continues.”

Royalton confirmed revised reopening timelines, with Royalton Negril, Royalton Hideaway Negril, and Grand Lido Negril scheduled to reopen on August 25, 2026. Updated dates for Royalton Blue Waters and Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters will be announced once assessments are finalised.
