Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey has indicated that Rushane Patterson, the person of interest in the murder of social media influencer Aneka ‘Slickianna’ Townsend, is expected to turn himself in on Thursday (November 3).

Bailey was addressing a Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) press conference today (November 1), where he gave an update on the case.

“An attorney reached out to me and indicated that he will take [Patterson] in on Thursday of this week,” Bailey announced.

Patterson was reportedly to turn himself in today, but that will no longer happen.

Previously it was also reported that Patterson had left the island on a plane to Atlanta, Georgia in the United States, shortly after the murder was reported.

But Police Commissioner Antony Anderson said there is no indication that Patterson has left the island.

When asked for further updates on the case, Bailey added that the JCF is actively pursuing the matter.

“We are at a very delicate position at this time but what I will say to the public is we are actively pursuing the matter,” noted Bailey.

Townsend’s body was found floating off the shores of Reading in St James on October 21.
