Aryna Sabalenka finished off Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-1 at the WTA Finals in Riyadh last Saturday (November 1).
The US Open champion was untouchable on serve, firing 11 aces and 24 winners. The win was her 60th victory of the season and her 12th against a top 10 opponent.
Sabalenka, who has now spent 63 weeks atop the world rankings, including 55 straight since last Octobe,r looked every bit the dominant force that carried her through 2024. Despite having qualified for the year-end Finals five times, she’s still chasing her first title at the event after finishing runner-up in 2022.
After trading early breaks, the Belarusian stormed through six straight games to take control, then held firm behind her serve to finish the match.
