Women’s world number one Aryna Sabalenka has withdrawn from the Stuttgart Open after struggling to recover from an injury sustained following her Miami run.

Sabalenka, who recently became the fifth woman to complete the ‘Sunshine Double’ with wins at Indian Wells and Miami, announced she wasn’t ready to compete despite her efforts to recover. Four time Stuttgart runner up, she will be replaced by Poland’s Magdalena Frech when the tournament begins on Monday.
